Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens, 4 – 5:30pm (including exhibition tour with artist Fiona Crisp at 5pm)

From the subterranean world of dark-matter laboratories to the midnight sun of the Nordic summer, Crisp’s work explores how we might connect to spaces and ideas beyond our own experience. Her practice interrogates the ontology of the photographic image – a branch of metaphysics dealing with the nature of being - to reveal new understandings of our changing relationships to space, place and time.

Weighting Time is a one-day Creative Assembly Event in response to Crisp’s survey exhibition. The Assembly will take place within and around the shows across both Sunderland Museum and the NGCA, creating a space and context to consider photography as an object of encounter.
