Artists & Exhibitions Assistant

  • Part Time, 3 days per week (Wednesday – Friday)
  • £16,500 p/a (pro rata to £27,500)

Matt’s Gallery is seeking an Artists & Exhibitions Assistant to join its team.

Reporting to the Director and Deputy Director, working within a small team, the Artists & Exhibitions Assistant provides efficient and effective administrative support to the gallery and its artists.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with artists or galleries in the public or private sector. They will be pro-active with excellent organisational skills and good knowledge of and familiarity with contemporary visual art.

Trustees

Matt’s Gallery is seeking new members for its Board of Trustees to support the continuation and development of its work in its new home in Nine Elms.

We are looking for proactive new members with an interest in contemporary art to join our board. We are especially interested in candidates based or active in the Wandsworth and Nine Elms areas, and particularly welcome applicants from Black, Asian and ethnically diverse backgrounds who are currently underrepresented in our organisation.

We are currently looking for individuals with knowledge or professional expertise in the following areas:

  • Accountancy and Finance
  • Audience Development
  • Environmental sustainability
  • HR

Trustees bring their expertise and professional experience to support Matt’s Gallery in achieving its aims and objectives. They provide leadership, advice and guidance to the staff and organisation.

Trustees serve for a 3-year term and attend approximately 4 meetings throughout the year in addition to an Annual General Meeting. They sometimes participate in and contribute to small working groups and subcommittees.

Candidates should be able to commit their time and enthusiasm and be an ambassador for the gallery.

In accordance with charities law, this is an unpaid position.
