Jordan Baseman

Winner of the People's Choice Award at Humboldt Int'l Film Festival

Jordan Baseman film A Different Kind of Different has won the People's Choice Award in the Animation category at Humboldt Int'l Film Festival.

A Different Kind of Different is Jordan Baseman's first foray into the world of Animation. The story follows the protagonist Alicia’s, psychological journey from cancer  diagnosis, radiation treatment, chemotherapy, and surgery, to feelings of disfigurement and  ultimately her present state of wellness; a state that is underpinned by the development and  wearing of her mastectomy tattoo. With great insight and humor, Alicia reflects on the  meaning of what happens to her, allowing the audience an understanding of her  psychological states, from un-wellbeing to wellbeing as she navigates life with and after  breast cancer.

The film premiered in January 2021 with a series of online screenings and illustrated talks, hosted by Matt's Gallery. To see the film and find out more about the project, visit https://www.kindofdifferent.org/
