LICHTEKOOI, TWHYLIGHT: an evening with Michael Curran & film screening of Jacques Rivette's 1976 Masterpiece DUELLE, 24.09.2022 at 8 pm, part of 'Zomer in de kloostertuin' at Extra City.

In 2020, Michael Curran responded to the naming and opening of LICHTEKOOI Artspace by making a sound piece with all the correspondence and email exchanges regarding the naming of the space – within this he explored issues around the language used to describe prostitutes, the notion that WE ARE ALL PROSTITUTES as a result of being embedded within capitalism, the aesthetics and politics of punk of naming and of queering and defiance.

In a related yet different approach the artist will explore other notions of Ladies of the Night and Ladies of the Light with a film screening of DUELLE. In a performative talk he will explore the presence of twilight in works of art and popular culture including screenings of his own Antwerp works: The Sun and The Moon and Twilight Finnissage - Neon Glow.
