Please join us to celebrate the culmination of a year-long series of commissions and screenings supported by Art Fund.

MattFlix is an ongoing series of online projects which began in April 2020 as the UK went into lockdown. Since then it has continued on our website, clocking up 47 online exhibitions.

Over the past 18 months MattFlix has gratefully received support from Art Fund to deliver 9 original newly commissioned artworks and screen 3 previously existing works.

The work that Matt's Gallery develops has always been site-specifc, we treat MattFlix as a site like any other. These works all respond in some way to the unique conditions of the online space that is MattFlix.

For the first time in its 3.5 year history we are taking a selection of works from MattFlix offline and giving you the opportunity to see them “in a dark room, on a large screen, with a good sound system and, most importantly, with a roomful of warm, like-minded bodies.” *

Across a two-hour screening of artist’s video the works are by turns funny, affecting, touching, disturbing, unsettling, poetic, slight, spectacular, whimsical, slow, speedy, long, short, erratic, hyper-focussed and many other adjectives besides.

The current edition of MattFlix, Lawrence Lek's interactive game Nepenthe Rifts, remains playable online through to 8 September.

Screenings will start each day at 12pm, 2pm and 4pm.

Screenings at 2pm each day will be captioned.
