Where Does The Artwork Come From?, 2018
£180.00 (3 left)
This risograph print presents the artwork as a question rather than an answer, one posed to the artist as much as to a wider audience. It constitutes a potential cover or poster for a series of works which speak to Social Body Mind Mapping – a pedagogical technique devised by the artist which uses diagramming methodology as a way to critically reflect upon an artwork. In ‘estranging' yourself from your own work, in abstracting from immediate concerns and asking the question 'where does this artwork/art project come from?’, the aim is to draw out and discover meanings beyond conscious intention, to plot wider modes of influence and determination, and so to create a map or machine which will be productive for subsequent work.
Each print is signed on the reverse by the artist.
A bespoke framing service is available.
